CRB Disclosure Service
Hessle Road Network is an Umbrella Body, registered to carry out full Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure checks.
We offer a cost-effective service to voluntary, community and commercial sectors.
What is the CRB Disclosure Service?
The CRB, an Executive Agency of the Home Office, provides a service which enables companies and individuals to gain access to criminal record information via the Disclosure process.
The CRB Disclosure Service uses records held by the police, the Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills (DfES) to make thorough checks on all staff working or applying to work with children and vulnerable adults.
Why is a Disclosure required?
When you apply for certain types of job you may be asked to apply for a criminal record check. These are generally jobs that mean you:
- will be working regularly with children or vulnerable people
- will be working in an establishment that is wholly or mainly for children
- will be working in healthcare
- have applied to be a foster carer, adoptive parent or childminder
A Disclosure allows employers to make informed recruitment decisions and helps prevent people with a history of unsuitable behaviour being allowed to work with children and vulnerable adults.
As part of our service we will:
Supply you with CRB Disclosure application forms and easy-to-follow guidance to help you complete applications.
Check each application and raise any queries with you to reduce delays.
Send applications to the CRB within 24 of hours of receipt (unless queries arise).
Send Disclosures to a nominated recipient within 24 hours of receipt from the CRB.
Handle all information securely and confidentially in line with the CRB Code of Practice.
Carry out ID checking and authorisation, unless you wish to nominate someone from your organisation to do this.
Offer advice on CRB policy and procedure.
